SOCA GOLD 2005 - VARIOUS ARTISTES The high spirited Caribbean carnival season attracts millions of music lovers from around the globe in annual celebration. These events spread West Indian culture and the music of Calypso and Soca. Carnival competition determines the best of the new songs and establishes young acts in the genre. Soca Gold is the soundtrack of carnival. Since its inception in 1997 Soca Gold has led the genre with breakthrough hits like “Tempted To Touch” Rupee and “A Little Closer” H2O Phlo. This year’s offering includes “Madder Dan Dat” Machel Montano and “Loraine” Explainer and Bunji Garlin a revision of the classic hit. Other features include Edwin Yearwood “All Aboard 2K5” a remake of the Atlantik classic and lead track to Yearwood’s VP debut due this summer. The package includes a bonus DJ mix disc by D-Life of New York radio station Hot 97.
